It all started with a little idea to capture some images of ourselves with horses in a dreamy winter landscape. Once we found Project Equus of Critteraid – an organization dedicated to helping the wild horses of British Columbia, we knew we had to somehow photograph these beautiful animals to bring more awareness to them. Many individuals have no idea there are even wild horses in the Okanagan. They also don’t know that many were rounded up and sent to auctions (mostly sold for meat) by the government. Thankfully, Project Equus stepped in and many of them have since been rescued. On this photoshoot, we featured the beautiful young horse Abercrombie, who is up for adoption, for anyone interested! After months of gathering props to style the shoot, we set out to put our idea in motion.
Katherine’s elegant & ethereal hair was styled by Giselle Gaspar from Mirror Mirror Salon & Spa, and the luminous & stunning makeup artistry was by Cheri Chung. Please enjoy a few of the images I captured of Abercrombie and my beautiful wife, Katherine Jassmann Trowbridge from the shoot.
Keep posted for more images coming soon of the two of us which were shot by Kait Dean, who recently from the digital photography program that I manage at the Centre for Arts and Technology. We absolutely LOVE her editorial-style work and look forward to seeing some of the images she captured a the shoot.
