This was a first for us – we had never photographed a New Year’s Eve wedding. So you can imagine our excitement when Nikita and Byron booked us a year before the big day. We’ve never had New Year’s Eve plans booked so far in advance! What a fun way to ring in the New Year.
We immediately loved Nikita’s aesthetic and taste for artistic and offbeat photography. You can check out their ethereal Midsummer’s Night Dream inspired engagement shoot here . After looking back at those summery engagement photos, it’s such a contrast to the winter wedding about to unfold below. However, both share a bit of dreaminess quality – there’s something quite magical about having your wedding at the turning of a new year.
We had such a fun time with everyone that day! Despite the deep snow and cold weather, the wedding party was amazing for the portraits- thank you!!! You all rock – Gold Star! Also a huge thank you to the Hanna & Hanna Orchards in Salmon Arm for letting us use your beautiful orchard for some photos. After a night of dining and dancing, everyone piled around Nikita and Byron on the dance floor and counted down to ring in the New Year. Then everyone headed outside and created a grand exit for Nikita and Byron which included fireworks and a tunnel of sparklers. That was indeed the most impressive exit we have ever seen. Congratulations Nikita & Byron and thank you for including us on your beautiful, joyous day!
Happy New Year Everyone!!!
At this exact moment, jolly Santa Claus drove by in his SUV and congratulated the happy couple!
…and then Nikita busted out some moves mid-couples First Dance, leaving Byron a little bewildered. Haha – go Nikita!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
