I absolutely love Alexander & Mitchell’s whirlwind romance story and their passion for their careers which have taken them to some amazing areas of the world! Mitchell totally wooed Alexandra after meeting through mutual friends, but within days Alexandra received notice that she landed her dream job with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in Malawai, Africa, and would have to leave in one week! Despite having just met, they wrote to each other everyday, spent Christmas together in Canada, and 8 months later Mitchell arrived in Malawi and proposed (on a super romantic re-creation of their first date) and also landed a job with CHAI shortly after as an engineer. After blissfully living in Africa together for 2 years, they both got positions with CHAI in Geneva, Switzerland at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, & Malaria and they have been living there for the past 3 years exploring Europe and adventuring!
When planning their wedding, they chose to get married at a private waterfront estate of a family friend in Summerland, BC, since Mitch grew up in the area. With both themselves and some guests travelling from as far as Switzerland, the stunning views of their wedding venue highlighted the beauty of the Okanagan. Their goal was for their wedding to be the best party ever and we think they totally succeeded! The private location created a warm and friendly atmosphere for guests to catch up and enjoy the festivities, lawn games, cocktails, and views. The gorgeous white décor, soft pink florals, and sparkling chandeliers complimented the tented outdoor lakeside reception beautifully and was the perfect location for their guests to dance the night away under the stars.
